The Nurture Rooms.

Nurture has four specifically designed spaces that cater to all age/developmental stages.

Mighty Morepork Room

Mighty Morepork Room

Our fabulous Mighty Moreporks are the ‘wise owls’ of Nurture. This room’s focus is on our transition-to-school program. We begin to extend the children’s wonder for learning, building upon their progression in the other Nurture rooms. We foster excitement about the learning process, so that the children will feel positive and enthusiastic when they begin primary school. We have primary school qualified teachers working in this room. They understand the level of knowledge and emotional maturity that the Moreporks will need when they leave Nurture. The teachers focus on early literacy and numeracy knowledge, and on developing the children’s independence. The Morepork room is unique, with most of the furniture in this space having been purpose-built. The room is divided into lots of intimate little learning areas. There is a science space, art and craft area, nature corner, and a huge family area dedicated to role-play. The natural light in this room is fabulous, and there is a wonderful transition between indoor and outdoor play. The Morepork teachers can...

Playful Pukeko Room

Playful Pukeko Room

Like a very ‘confident Pukeko strutting through the park’ our Playful Pukeko children are starting to develop a strong sense of independence. The children now enjoy playing and interacting with their little friends. In a positive, supportive learning environment they can practise important social skills – such as sharing, taking turns, or the art of negotiation. Pukekos are starting to extend their amazing imaginations. We provide all the resources for their imaginations to run wild: dress ups, role-play, and construction equipment are just a start. Our enthusiastic teachers work on fabulous little projects inspired by the children’s interests. Around the room there are plenty of learning opportunities for the children to start developing their early literacy skills. They will gain an understanding that letters make words, and discover which letters are in their name. The Playful Pukeko children have an outdoor play area that challenges them, and provokes their natural...

Cheeky Kea Room

Cheeky Kea Room

It’s all in a name, and ‘Cheeky’ is a great word to describe this incredible and very special stage of a child’s life. The teachers work closely with our toddlers as they start rapidly developing their vocabulary, building confidence, and developing social skills. Our Cheeky Kea toddlers do still need that special ‘Nurturing’ time from the teachers: they enjoy a high teacher to child ratio, and they share outdoor spaces with our Tiny Tui babies – ensuring that there are lots of familiar teachers around. The wonderful outdoor play area contains age-appropriate slides, tunnels and a trike track. The rapid development in this age group keeps the teachers on their toes, and they constantly create stimulating and fun play for the children within a nurturing environment. The great mix of teachers in this room can always be seen singing and dancing with a very Cheeky sparkle in their own...

Tiny Tui Room

Tiny Tui Room

The Tiny Tui room is best described as a ‘cosy little nest for our very special little babies’. The room caters for babies from 3 months old through to when they have started to develop strong mobility and co-ordination (usually at around 18 months). All the furniture and resources have been specifically selected to enable young babies to start exploring their amazing little worlds in a super-safe environment. For this age group learning is all about developing senses. The outdoor play space is focused on tactile learning, textures, smells and little physical challenges. We structure the babies’ day around their own personal routine. The teachers closely monitor and document their sleeping and feeding in the individual Daily Diaries. Portfolios are updated with all their little adventures and personal milestones, creating a fabulous book for you to treasure. This room has the highest ratio of teachers to children. Our Tiny Tui teachers are extremely well qualified and experienced. Many are mothers or even grandmothers...

What our parents are saying.

Don't just take our word for it, take a look at what our families think about Nurture.

“It is not just one outstanding teacher – it is all of them, everyone smiles, everyone cares, everyone from the managers to every single teacher pays attention to our son’s individual needs and makes time for us as parents. The honest, pleasant, positive, child-led philosophy and culture of Nurture is lived and breathed every day. Recently I dropped my son off and thought I would hang around for a few minutes while he settled in… he took my hand, led me to the door, and pushed me out with a smile… I think that says it all.” Oscar’s Mum

“Being an over protective father I was looking for somewhere that I knew my daughter was going to be safe and where everyday she attended would be fun, but also educational….. The staff are great, the facility and set up are fantastic, it would be my pleasure to recommend Nurture.” Harpers Dad

“Our daughter started at Nurture when she was 6 months old. It was hard leaving her and going back to work. But the team have made us feel like she is being left with family. The best part of our day now is picking up our smiling, happy baby girl”. Freya’s Mum

“Our two children love going to Nurture. They race inside each morning and spend the day with teachers they trust and who provide a wealth of learning opportunities.” Joe and Emma’s Mum

“We love the thought and care that has gone into this centre. Caring, qualified teachers and active owners has made our decision to send our daughter there a great choice. Really love the little extras Nurture provides for parents and caregivers, seminars and event days are a nice highlight”. Freya’s Mum

“We have been with Nurture since they opened and we absolutely love it! The facilities and resources are amazing and the learning experiences are just wonderful. Lucas absolutely loves his teachers and we know each day when we drop him off that he will be happy, well cared for and will have a fantastic, busy day!” Lucas’s Mum

“From Williams first day I knew he was in safe and loving hands. The centre has been amazing and we are so thankful we have our son there.” Williams Mum
